Restoring You Counselling

My approach

As an integrative counsellor, my approach is holistic and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities rather than working from a single fixed method.

I believe every person is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. By integrating different ways of working, I aim to support the emotional, psychological, and behavioural aspects of your experience. This can help you gain insight, build resilience, and move towards meaningful change.

My approach is rooted in patience, understanding, and genuine curiosity about your story. I believe that many of our struggles begin to make sense when we explore the experiences that have shaped us. People often come to therapy feeling frustrated with themselves or confused about why they react in certain ways or keep finding themselves in repeated patterns.

Rather than focusing on blame, we work together to gently make sense of what is going on, develop self-awareness, and find healthier ways of coping. My aim is to support you in building a deeper understanding of yourself so that change feels both possible and sustainable.

Our work together is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that you already have the inner resources needed to move through difficulties. Therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about creating the right conditions for you to reconnect with yourself and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

In sessions, you will find a safe, non-judgemental space where you can come as you are. We will work together at your pace to explore what has brought you to counselling and what might help you begin to feel more like yourself again.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and balanced life, and to take steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you in that process.

I am an accredited member of the NCPS and work in line with their ethical framework.

What sessions are like

Starting counselling can feel daunting, especially if you have never experienced therapy before. You may be unsure of what to expect, worried about where to begin, or concerned about being judged.

Creating a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space is at the heart of my work. My aim is for you to feel comfortable bringing whatever is on your mind, without fear of criticism or pressure. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling, and there is no expectation to be anything other than yourself.

Many clients tell me that they have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or unable to fully express how they are feeling. One of the most meaningful pieces of feedback I have received is, “You made me feel seen.” For me, this reflects the importance of feeling genuinely heard, accepted, and understood.

Our sessions are a space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we can make sense of what has brought you to counselling, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work towards creating meaningful and lasting change.

My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and understanding as you discover what you need and what feels right for you.
